The diagonal underframe, manufactured from 75mm beech is drawbolted for strength. This underframe is recommended for medium duty work, the compromise in rigidity is offset by the ability for students to sit at the bench, and also gives access for wheelchair users.
The illustration shows the frame fitted with a W top and woodwork vices. Also shows workshop vice pad (P2) stowed in rack VPR.

Bench tops
- BA Top Solid 50mm kiln dried steamed beech makes a near ideal working surface because it is hardwearing and resilient.
- T Top A heavy duty flush top with economy. 140mm wide solid beech edges bonded all around a heavy centre panel. (Also available 1.07m square)
- W Top Features a reversible centre tray, which can be turned to give a flat top. Plates of 250mm solid beech surround the tray and the central space is easily adaptable for the provision of storage, racking or service provision. (also 1.07m square)
- C Top For medium duty 3.2mm linoleum top with beech lipping. The low cost resilient surface is suitable for writing, electronics or light craftwork. (Also available 1.07m square)
- S Top Replaceable MDF work surface on substantial sub top allows for economic replacement of messy or damaged working surface without disturbing the woodwork vices.
Accessories
- 6” or 7” woodwork vices are an optional extra on all square benches. (C top limited to 6” or 7” medium).
- P1 - 3” mechanics vice mounted on a 300 x 300mm tray with clamp-in block
- Vice Pad Racks for the safe storage of the P1 or P2. (Available on open frames only - not available on 2133H).
